EMPLOI

Recruiting with complete transparency and objectivity: this is UCLouvain’s commitment as an employer.

Gender equality, equal opportunity and respect for diversity are at the heart of its staff policy.

Professionalism

Everyone involved in selecting a new staff member is committed to a process that prioritises integrity and quality. Their mission is to recruit the applicant who:

  • has the required qualifications;
  • is capable of integrating into the institution and embracing its values;
  • is capable of progressing in the various facets of the job and keeping pace with the institution’s development.

Respect and equality

The recruitment process respects the rights and dignity of all applicants.

Any method that could undermine this commitment, whether in the choice of questions, methods or tone, is prohibited.

UCLouvain bans all forms of discrimination, whether related to gender, age, religious beliefs, medical history, etc.

Transparency and objectivity

UCLouvain is committed to providing correct and sufficient information about the institution and the post.

Applicants are informed as objectively as possible about the post, the desired profile and the selection process.

You will also be kept informed of:

  • how the decision is made;
  • recruitment timeframe;
  • who is involved in the process;
  • what use will be made of the data collected about you.

Whether or not you are selected for the post, you will receive feedback within a reasonable period of time.

Professional confidentiality and data retention

Please be assured that:

  1. the information you are asked to provide, in whatever form, is intended solely to assess your professional abilities and your suitability for the job;
  2. the data resulting from the recruitment process is presented and stored in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and in such a way as to preserve professional confidentiality;
  3. information collected from you to better understand your application is disclosed only to those involved in recruitment;
  4. references from previous employers may only be collected with your consent.

Tools and aptitude tests

As an employer, UCLouvain may use specific tools or tests in the selection process (psycho-technical tools, role-playing exercises, language tests, etc.), subject to the applicant’s agreement.

In this case, the applicant is informed of the content of the tests and may be informed of their conclusions.
