Institut des sciences de la vie (ISV)

ISV

The living world is full of unsolved mysteries. As researchers, our aim is to solve some of these and so move forward the frontiers of knowledge.
Whatever the organism (animal, plant, or microorganism), to explain life, we need to understand what happens at the molecular and cellular levels.

Our fields of investigation therefore range from the molecule to the organism.

"Discovering, understanding and applying" is the aim of the 33 teams (150 research staff) in our Institute.

The research projects pursued in the Institute are in the fields of biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, microbiology, genetics, and physiology, and are focused on four different themes.

Animals Plants  Microorganisms Biomolecules

Ultimately, the new knowledge has to lead to new applications for the common good.
