During his stay at UCL between the 23rd to 27th August, the Rector of the Italian University of Rosario, Prof Mario Secchi, met our recently appointed new Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Prof Francis Zech and worked with his long-standing friend Prof Jean-François Gigot at the hepatobiliary pancreatic unit.

UCL Health Sciences have long-standing exchanges with several universities in Lebanon, in particular with the Universities of St Joseph and the Université Libanaise of Beyrouth. We were invited to join Prof Charles Pilipili, as he went over to teach paediatric dentistry for a week (18hrs, 10-14th April), in order to develop official exchange contracts between our universities.
Prof Bertrand Yersin, of Lausanne University, came to visit Prof Frédéric Thys in UCL's Emergency Department, to further discuss practical details about the recently signed exchange agreement of Junior Doctors specializing in A&E.
On the occasion of the Opening Ceremony of their Brussels Antenna, Kobe University organized a Scientific Symposium on Friday 4th March in Brussels Square, and UCL received the visit of Prof Izumi Saito, Vice-Dean of Research for Health Sciences, and of Mrs Saori Obayashi, International Exchange Coordinator, who helped organizing both events.
Following the recent development of Erasmus exchange programs for Junior Doctors and Professors in Emergency Medicine with various A&E units in France and Switzerland, the Geneva team of Prof Sarasin came on 3rd March 2011 to discuss eventual exchanges in Brussels with Prof Frédéric Thys at St-Luc.
For this third International Evening for Health Sciences, students and professors were invited to share their experiences, both of work and study abroad, and of international collaboration in their daily work in the departments of A&E, Internal Medicine and Paediatrics.
UCL Health Sciences went over to visit Tübingen University following the kind invitation of their International Relations Coordinator, Ms Elena Lebherz, who organized meetings and laboratory visits for Prof Pascal Kienlen-Campard, UCL's Vice-Dean for the Faculty of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences.
The Rector of Hanoi Pharmacy University, Prof. Dr. Le Viet Hung, came to visit the Faculty of Pharmacy in order to develop further fruitful collaboration in research and teaching projects between our two universities.
Prof Mario Secchi, Rector of IUNIR, the Italian University of Rosario in Argentina, came to Woluwe for a few days mid-September to further develop and consolidate the existing exchanges between UCL and IUNIR in medicine.
