Archives of the Catholic world (ARCA)

The ARCA is a technological platform of the Institute.

Founded in 1989, the ARCA (Archives of the Catholic world) answers a long standing request from professors and researchers of the Université Catholique of Louvain: to create a Centre in charge of collecting, saving and studying documentation concerning the life of the Christian world in Wallonia and Brussels in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The documentation gathered at the ARCA is the subject of an adapted archivistic and biblio-economic treatment, which aims at classifying and inventorying the funds, but also at supplying a library specifically aimed at clarifying the problems of the Catholic Society of our areas in the 19th and 20th centuries.
