Organizational PrinciplesThe student exchange partnerships between UCL and its partner institutions are managed by each faculty or school partaking in the exchange. The respective faculty or school selects students to be accepted into the programme based on various criteria including, but not limited to, the students motivation, knowledge of the host country’s language and, of course, academic profile. Along with its application, the student will have to choose between different partner university and institution options given by the home faculty and based on the search for an equivalent and/or complementary training with respect to his or her home curriculum. The basic principles of exchange programmes are detailed in the bilateral agreements between the partner faculties. The academic stay period usually ranges from one trimester to one academic year. During this time, the student follows the same amount of courses and/or practical training equivalent to the normal study load at UCL. The results obtained at the partner university or institution are transferred to the respective UCL faculty who then rightly recognizes the credits. During his or her study stay abroad, the student remains registered at UCL and is exempt from paying tuition fees at the host university
