A doctorate (PhD) is :
- to form yourself for scientific research, in close contact with your promotor, often within a team in contact with an international scientific community;
- make a personal long-term project, leading to original results;
- become an expert, as recognized by the scientific community;
- advantage of opportunities for doctoral training in an environment broader than that of the host team;
- develop other skills such as scientific communication, the definition of a project and it management, work in teams or networks...
