Prevention against tuberculosis

Belgian and foreign students who enroll for the first and second time at UCL and who have lived in a country where tuberculosis is endemic* have to undergo a chest-X ray. For it to be validated, this X-ray has to be done after the 1st of May 2011.

*This countries are located in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe. Check the complete list of the countries (fr).

Two possibilities:

1. You have already undergone the chest X- Ray after the 1st of May and you have the radiography (mentioning your name) with you ?

You can present it to the doctor of the Service d’aide aux étudiants :

At Louvain-la-Neuve (Dr Guy Degand)
Point de Repère
Rue des Wallons, 10
Tél : 010/47 20 02

At Bruxelles (Dr Christine Jadoul)
Promenade de l’Alma, 31
Tél : 02/764 41 31

2. You can undergo the chest-X ray for free in one of these two hospitals: Cliniques Saint-Pierre at Ottignies (near Louvain-la-Neuve) or Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc (on the UCL campus at Brussels Woluwe).

This examination has to be done before enrolment at the University. You need for that a special document (called "réquisitoire") that will be given to you by the Office of the Registrar on your arrival. You will have to book an appointement in one of the two hospitals.

Once the chest-x ray undergone, you'll receive an attest that you'll have to bring to the Office of the Registrar. This done, your enrolment will be definitive.
