Awarding of diplomas and diploma supplements

The diplomas awarded at UCL respect the basis and format laid down by the Decree of 31 March 2004 "defining higher education, supporting its integration into the European Higher Education Area and the refinancing of universities".

Diplomas are awarded accompanied by a diploma supplement specifying, among other things, the list of courses which make up the programme of studies attended by the student, the course entry requirements and the assessments endorsed by the conferred academic degree. The personal elements of this supplement in connection with each student are collated in an annex to the supplement.

The information required by the Government is stated on the diploma in French. This information may be accompanied by a translation in another language for diplomas delivered under a partnership agreement for the joint organisation of studies.

The diplomas and supplements to diplomas are issued routinely and free of charge to all students having successfully completed studies leading to an academic degree.

The list of courses leading to an academic degree is accessible at the following address: http://www.uclouvain.be/enseignement

These documents are awarded on behalf of the examination boards through the offices of each Faculty or Department.
