Authorities and administrations

  • The Pro-Rector for Research, Professor Vincent Yzerbyt, is in charge of the team of rectors dealing with matters relating to research and doctoral training.
  • The Research Department (ADRE), provides overall logistical and administrative support for research missions and missions of benefit to the university community. It helps promote UCL’s place in Belgium and the world as well as the economic and social development of the region.
  • The Research Board has the right to give an opinion vis-à-vis the university’s academic council concerning the institution’s research policy. It takes care of the general administration of research funds, essentially in terms of fundamental research.
  • The Commission de valorisation, COVA, has an initial mandate to: ‘attract the attention of the laboratories to the benefits of promotion, to write codes of conduct and to grant the university a partnership charter’.
