Parking in Louvain-la-NeuvePARKING ZONES OPEN TO ALL
Originally destined for the non-university public, there are two areas to park on the Louvain-la-Neuve site in UCL car parks: paying public car parks in the town centre and car parks in the ‘zone bleue’ (blue zone) spread across the whole of the territory of Louvain-la-Neuve.
Following negotiations and the signing of a joint "Parkings-Mobilité" convention with UCL’s trade union delegations, the university authorities drew up rules which govern parking on the university site. For some car parks there will be a charge, but a large number of free parking spaces remain for UCL staff and students. The ‘Car park’ measures have been accompanied by the implementation of a mobility policy which, by providing financial incentives to staff in particular, is an attempt to encourage the use of public transport and bicycles, particular in the direction of the Louvain-la-Neuve site.
