ERC Starting Grant

L' « ERC Starting Grant», fortement dotée (jusqu'à 2 millions € pour 5 ans), est convoitée chaque année par des milliers de candidats européens (pour un taux de réussite de 11,5% lors du dernier appel 2012). Le Conseil européen de la recherche est à l’affût des idées exploratoires, neuves, même risquées, à la frontière de la connaissance. 9 chercheurs de l'UCL ont jusqu'ici décroché ce financement.

ERC Advanced Grant

Par le biais de l’appel « ERC Advanced Investigator Grant », l’ERC finance les meilleurs chercheurs confirmés reconnus sur le plan international en tant que leaders d’exception, grâce à l’originalité et l’importance de leur activité de recherche exploratoire. L'UCL peut se réjouir de compter parmi ses membres deux lauréats:

2010		François MANIQUET (économie) Poverty, Resource Equality, and Social Policies (PORESP)
2008		André BERGER (climatologie) An intense summer monsoon in a cool world, climate and East Asian monsoon during interglacials with a special emphasis on the interglacials 500,000 years ago and before (EMIS)

Par ailleurs, Jacques POUPAERT participe au projet TERNANOMED (Terpenoylation: an original concept for the discovery of new nanomedicines) de Patrick Couvreur (Université Paris Sud XI) et Fabio MALTONI au projet LHCTheory (Theoretical predictions and analyses of LHC physics: advancing the precision frontier) de Michelangelo Mangano (CERN).
