Les brochures thématiques répertorient les compétences de recherche valorisables, c’est-à-dire susceptibles de faire l’objet d’un développement commercial, d’une application non marchande, d’une avancée en sciences humaines.
Depuis 2010, le know-how et les technologies de pointe développées au sein des laboratoires de l’Académie universitaire Louvain1 y sont présentés (des brochures étaient déjà publiées avant 2010 mais seulement au niveau de l'UCL).
Ces brochures thématiques mettent l'accent sur la nature interdisciplinaire des recherches et des équipes de l’Académie universitaire Louvain.
Leur vocation est de promouvoir le potentiel de recherche de l’Académie universitaire Louvain au-delà des frontières et de susciter les partenariats avec les entreprises, les institutions publiques ainsi que tous les acteurs économiques concernés par la thématique.
